Who is this event open to?

Circle participants must have taken the “Claiming Your Voice” workshop.

What does it include?

Classical Memoir Circle is for memoirists working on a traditional, book-length narrative in which their story rolls out, usually over the course of hundreds of pages. Participants share scenes and chapters from their ongoing work and get educated, quality feedback. They also bring their questions about the genre and the elements and arc of their stories. Members help each other stay productive and instruction from Lorraine keeps everyone’s story sharp and project on track. Together, participants become a community that supports each other’s work before and after publication. Lorraine often shares book industry news items, tips, and opportunities in the sessions. A friendly atmosphere and astute commentary are staples of this circle experience. When one series is over, a new six-month series begins.

When you sign up, you’re with us for five consecutive months. The sixth month is a makeup month in case you weren't able to attend one of the other dates. Everyone, however, is welcome all six months.
