You wake up.
You look at your phone.
You check your social media and email
You turn on the news.
Bad news… Hateful words… Negativity, nastiness, death and destruction
Do you know what you are doing to yourself?
In these times of uncertainty, sorrow, disillusion, seclusion and doubt we turn to one another for clarity, encouragement and a much needed break. I’m writing to ask you to consider the latter of that sentence. It is up to us to use the tools of communication that we are given with purpose and intent. We are failing to appropriate our language to the times we are living in.
We all, more or less, stumbled into the COVID-19 quarantine. I know I did.
In late February I’d just finished a four-month physical therapy regimen. Eager to keep my momentum going, I went to my new gym for an exercise class schedule.
I checked in with the membership director.
“She’s out with the flu,” I was told.
“Sorry to hear that,” I said, turning to the personal trainer office, looking for mine.
“He’s out with the flu.”
Two yoga instructors, same thing—flu. Plus, the place didn’t look very full.
Something’s wrong here, I thought. I’ll wait.
Energy and Healing – two words seemingly unrelated.
Yet, there is more to this association than we can imagine, or ever dream to understand.
On December 31 st at 6:30am I was jolted awake by my longtime boyfriend having a massive heart attack. He had passed away and my life changed in the blink of an eye. Dealing with grief is a horrible thing. My heart was broken. He was my best friend.
Lessons come to us because we have something to learn.
